Congressional Health Events and Bills Introduced

Attached please find a chart of health care related Congressional events currently scheduled for the week of January 8 to January 12, 2018. We have also attached a list of health care related bills introduced in Congress from January 1 to January 5, 2018.

This Tuesday the Senate Health, Education, and pensions committee will have a hearing on the opioid crisis and an examination of cause and effects. On Thursday they will have an Executive Session to Consider the Nominations of Brigadier General Mitchell Zais to be Deputy Secretary of the Department of Education, Kenneth Marcus to be Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights of the Department of Education, James Blew to be Assistant Secretary for Planning, Evaluation, and Policy Development at the Department of Education, Patrick Pizzella to be Deputy Secretary of the Department of Labor, Scott Mungo to be Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health, Cheryl Stanton to be Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division at the Department of Labor, Dr. William Beach to be Commissioner of Labor Statistics at the Department of Labor, Dr. Brett Giroir to be Assistant Secretary for Health at the Department of Health and Human Services, and possible additional re-nominations.
