Dedicated to supporting Louisiana physicians and their patients, the LSMS continually strives to make Louisiana a better place to practice medicine by connecting members to:

  • Advocacy efforts promoting appropriate physician-patient relationships based on ethical, intellectual, and scientific principles and the authority of the physician in defining what constitutes the practice of medicine;
  • Peers by providing networking opportunities at the national, state and local levels; as well as volunteer opportunities and statewide communication tools, such as member newsletters and publications;
  • Patients through the Find a Physician member locator and health care information and resources to assist patients and physicians in making better health care decisions; and
  • Benefits that support physicians personally and professionally.
